The Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PCVB), a private non-profit membership corporation, is the official Tourism Promotion Agency for the City of Philadelphia, and the primary sales and marketing agency for the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The PCVB competes with its counterparts worldwide for convention and tourism business. The organization has departments dedicated to the multicultural, sports, and life sciences markets.
Philadelphia Multicultural Affairs Congress's (MAC) mission is to increase Philadelphia's share of the multicultural convention and tourism markets and to ensure the inclusion of people of color in every aspect of the hospitality industry. MAC has worked with key industry figures to help increase the presence of people of color in the industry with events including its annual career fair which serves hospitality high school and adult students to receive training and information direct from people working in the industry; seminars, that include information on marketing to people of color and business opportunities for MAC members and community organizations and networking events that can highlight partnerships, membership initiatives and educational programs.
